St. Louis’ Compton Heights Concert Band will present its 19th Annual Holiday Pops Spectacular concert on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at the gorgeously holiday decorated Skip Viragh Performing Arts Center with 2 exciting performances; a 2:00 PM matinee and a 7:30 PM gala!
The joyous concerts are headlined by St. Louis’ favorite Tenor of the World, Hugh Smith, Winter Opera’s founder and superb soprano, Gina Galati, and the booming baritone voice of Robert Ellison! This trio captivated the audience during the Compton Heights Band’s summer series and last year’s Holiday extravaganza.
The 60 piece Compton Heights Concert Band led by its maestro and Music Director, Edward Dolbashian, will present a varied audience friendly program of holiday favorites, carols, sacred classics and pops, concluding in an amazing spectacular audience sing-along finale, Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus, led by the three stars and the combined East Central College, Mo. And Olney, Illinois Community choirs.
This concert will be an unforgettable Holiday experience and magnificent joyful start to the Holiday season! Tickets are available on-line through “Tix” or by phone directly from the Compton Heights Band. Group tickets are available for groups of 10 or more at a 5% discount. Gold Patron tickets are a special tradition at the Band’s annual Holiday Pops Spectacular and include the best seats in the house, a delightful post-concert catered reception by LoRusso’s Cucina featuring various hors d'oeuvres, a bar, free valet parking and opportunities to meet, greet, and be photographed with the 3 stars, Hugh, Gina and Bob! It’s another way to start off the Holiday season on a merry, merry note!
